On a recent visit to Chicago, we stopped by everyone’s favorite sled hill. This year’s mild winter hasn’t provided much snow, so the hill was packed after the weekend’s mild dusting. Growing up in Illinois produces a certain love for hills of any size.
Tom visited Ann Arbor to enjoy his Christmas present. We gave him three tickets to the Michigan vs Michigan State basketball game. Needless to say, Paris and I were thrilled that Michigan won. GO BLUE!!!
This winter’s Gentlemen’s Weekend was quite good. We had a bit of snow, and plenty of sunshine. The brookies were biting though the grouse and rabbit were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps that’s because of all the coyote we saw!
The philosophical debates were ridiculous and the food was delicious. I’m not sure there were three guys in the entire state of Michigan who were having more fun. The satisfaction of catching your dinner, chopping down the tree that will fuel your oven’s fire, and enjoying that dinner with your best buds is one of life’s finest pleasures. Looking forward to spring’s trip. Hopefully the ground game will be out in numbers, eager to hop into our paella pan!
My good friend, Jonathan Dee, introduces his latest project in this pitch to the state of Montana. Based on the short story, A Very Nice Man, by Patricia Highsmith, the short film looks like it will be a fascinating story set in beautifully isolated Montana towns, with an interesting looking cast who appear to have been harvested from Dorothy Lange photographs.

Went sailing out of Hammond, Indiana a few weeks ago. Not much wind, but still fun to participate in the informal regatta. Crazy views of power plants, steel mills, and casinos down in that corner of Lake Michigan. Fun stuff.
Had a shoot in Detroit for an internet security firm. The light coming in from the office windows was very nice to work with.
